How long have you been with GDHV?

Since March 2017. I joined the team to help develop our first mobile apps and web applications to control panel, storage and water heaters remotely.

What does your role involve?

My primary role is to gather and communicate requirements for connecting appliances between the various stakeholders. I’ve been involved in API design to facilitate control of connected appliances for dynamic energy control and have also had the opportunity to model business processes to suit the changing needs of Internet of Things connected projects. I work closely with app designers, developers and testers to design the best user experience for users of our mobile apps. In the process, my team has created specification templates that can be utilized by all teams to make the process of firmware development more efficient across the business.

What do you enjoy most about working for GDHV?

I really appreciate the autonomy and the responsibility given to me from the first week of joining the team. It’s encouraging to see the appetite for change within the business collectively as we venture into new markets. GDHV has always facilitated training for me as needed and given me many opportunities to learn new skills on the job.

What advice would you give to someone looking to join GDHV?

For people looking to join GDHV team, my advice would be to be assertive and not be afraid of asking questions. Common sense goes a long way and new skills never go to waste.
